There was a rumour earlier today that Alhaji Shehu Shagari passed on. Well, according to Tribune newspaper the rumour has been debunked by a reliable source.

The personal assistant to the Second Republic president and head of the Shehu Shagari Foundation, Dr Atiku Nuhu Koko, who confirmed the report to Nigerian Tribune, rebuffed the news of Shagari's death already circulating on the online media.
Koko said "Shagari is alive."

New ebola case in Liberia

Hopes of Liberia being declared as ebola free has been thwarted as a new case has been detected after 20 days without any ebola case. A woman tested positive on Friday 20th march in the capital, Monrovia.
The World Heath Organization requires 42 days to elapse from the last known case before a country can be declared free of the virus.
More than 4,000 people in Liberia have died from the disease.

India train accident kills 22

A passenger train has derailed in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, killing at least 22 people, railway officials say.
The engine and two carriages of the Janta Express, which travels between Dehradun and Varanasi, went off the rails near Bachhrawan village.
Several dozen people were also injured in the accident, officials said.
Villagers, police and railway guards are trying to rescue passengers trapped in the carriages.
